ok, so heres the deal, there was a blast in the pit. A bench away this sinkhole collapsed, it was a cavern from the old underground mine thats below us we are digging into the original mine was from around 1870-1920. Please note how large that hole really is. The man standing there is the Shovel Foreman Willy, hes almost 7ft tall. It took over 400 loads of around 380tonnes a load to fill that hole in.

See this big glorious red button? This is the fire suppression button. Slam that bad boy down and POOF! Fire retardent coat's the entire engine block/under carriage and radiator. Bad thing is 2 things: it kills most of the electrical costing close to $20,000 in damage/lost time, and its a big red button... Who doesn't want to press it? Long story short, don't press it unless your truck is gunna go into a fiery ball of death.

P.S: I didn't press it.

No sarcasm. All those facts are true, pretty much costs 20,000 to press the thing.

Another picture of Shovel 2 loading a truck. Keep in mind how large that shovel is. Its tracks are around 10ft tall. It can move 380tonnes of earth in 3-4 scoops. This Shovel and Shovel 1 are both Electric shovels, 0 gasoline/diesel. Shovel 3 is a little larger than Shovels 1 and 2 but its a diesel and its a big beast of a machine. Its bright orange :)
