Re: What music do you listen to?
Some people may notice a theme with the music I post.
I cannot hit those last notes.
The really loud song.
Such the happy song.
And the finale...

"Look at the sky, is there a heaven out there? What do you see? Is it a road to nowhere? I see a mountain, high, that reaches to the sky forever."
It begins with a ring-leader; in this case Bob "Flaming Carrot" Burden. "We'll make history, lads" he enthues "The first up-tempo, now, 1980's, happening kind of comic book artists to ever draw on a girl's legs in a strange hotel room".

Re: What music do you listen to?
I'm pleasantly surprised how much 80's music is on this thread. Here are some of my favorites:
Jorge Ben (Jor)
He's sort of like the John Lennon of Brazil. You can't find two people in Rio that haven't at least heard of him. He changed his name to Jorge Ben Jor -to avoid confusion with George Benson, another great artist- but most still call him Jorge Ben. He puts a lot of emotion into his voice -so much so that it occasionally cracks- and has an excellent sense of harmony.
Jorge Ben - Comanche:
You may recognize this as the sample in the Black eye'd peas song, "Fallin' Up".
Here's him live:
Other songs I recommend from him are Chove Chuva, Rio Babilônia, and Ponta de Lança Africano (Umbabarauma), to name a few.
Giant Panda
A rap trio consisting of Newman and Maanumental (hailing from Seattle) and Chikaramanga (a Tokyo native, real name Chikara Kurahashi). They have a unique style that is reminiscent of rap in early 80's. That means no songs about killing cops and getting mad bank, and no lyrics primarily designed to make them look like gods. Every song is creative and well written, and you'd be hard pressed to find a group even similar to them. I'm fairly certain the following songs have no swearing.
Giant Panda - Speakers Pop:
Giant Panda - 613 Laser Ray:
I also recommend "The 90's"
Minus 8
An excellent house musician from Germany, I think. I don't know much about him, but his music is just plain cool. I've been told his genre is called "jungle", but I don't think anyone writes this stuff down.
Minus 8 - D.R.L.S.
Minus 8 - The Sweetest Sounds
Minus 8 - BossaNova Feeling (the DJ mix of this song is great as well)

Re: What music do you listen to?
The problem is it works in a weird way, you have to use the part after the v=HomeBrew wrote:The embed isn't working...
I really hope the embed works.
Such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJ7EKeIDkVg
You use GJ7EKeIDkVg for a video. (note, that's just for that particular video.)
After that, you do the youtube embed and it should look like this:
"Look at the sky, is there a heaven out there? What do you see? Is it a road to nowhere? I see a mountain, high, that reaches to the sky forever."

Oh this is fun
I listen to the British Anthem (Yes I do in my spear time)
I also listen to Classical
German Pop music like Peter Fox - "Kopf Verloren"
And such so ya my music is really just European Western(Central)
America and Canadian Music doesn't really move me as much as European.

While I'd hate to dis american music, I kinda have to agree. I'm not even sure why, but the majority of the music I like was made outside of the U.S.
On the subject of German music: I got to say it makes me a little upset when people say German is an 'ugly' language, and that it's no good for music. It may lack a certain mellifluousness, but for strong and direct lyrical styles it's perfect (like in the above video). To it, Jakob Beinenhalm:
Well, I'm afraid the one in the video above wont help you much.sniper101 wrote:uh translation? :3
Seriously, what is he singing about? Fountains?

I stand in the room, can't sleepsniper101 wrote:uh translation? :3
My head is burning
I'll get another drink
Doesn't work, my thoughts are running
Through my head in circles
The wires are getting hot
It smells like burnt brain flesh
I put my head into ice
I think, think, think too much
It would be good if my brain fell out of the window
Pressure in the head, there's no outlet
Tried 20.000 scenes
Thought of 100.000 scenes
My head is smoking and cracks
I need a break and I take this thing
And screw it off
The bowl falls over
Can't see anything, am without ears
I stand in the dark
I lost my head
The day is dawning, there's a knock at your door
You open and there's me in front of you without my head
Oh, hold me, otherwise I'm loosing myself
Only with you I fand the way back to me
The head rolls because it's circular
Me after it, knock everything over
I'm deaf, mute, blind and silly
A kingdom for a guide dog
My head has lost me
I ask myself what I might be thinking right now
May I call myself, but I can't hear anything
How could I destroy myself this way
Get bruises on every corner
My head is rolling through the hallway
I have to save, I don't give up
While I race with myself
I get crazy, I nearly can't take it
I stumble, fall, lie in the dust
The dread reaches out for me
Oh, wake me from my nightmare
Do you want some tea, Sire?
