So Minecraft has a new update I completely forgot about.
1.6.4: It will basically save any generated structure to a new file to prepare for 1.7 (due to terrain generation or something like that). I will have to update it to 1.6.4 soon, and when I do, I want you all to make sure to visit all the nether fortresses, strongholds, witch huts etc. to make sure that you still have those in 1.7 (they won't disappear, but some of their functions might).
Then again, it might take a while before we update to 1.7, due to Bukkit.

Am I the only one around here who thinks Minecraft has been receiving way too many updates?

Lets look at logistics. 1.0.0 was released in 2011.
It's 2013, and we're on 1.6.4
I don't think 3 updates a year is bad.

And it kind of is if you think about how many 1.1's, 1.2's, 1.3's, 1.4's, 1.5's, and 1.6's (if any more) were released between then and now
I guess it's mainly because I like mods and mods can't update fast enough with the updates

They're all bug fixes, unless you like your Mc broken, these 1.1's ect are good.TheScourge96 wrote:Almost on 1.7TheOnlyShare wrote:"Too many updates"TheScourge96 wrote:Am I the only one around here who thinks Minecraft has been receiving way too many updates?

I agree with Scourge, Jeb should give modmakers some time to catch up.

Re: 1.6.4 -> 1.7
By the time the mod finally updates, a new Minecraft update is released that makes the mod incompatible again
I mean yeah, snapshots are released for mod makers to kind of catch up but it's not much because there's a new snapshot every week.
And the pre-releases are just a week to a couple days before the official release, which doesn't give the mod makers enough time (most times)
So they're always behind.
