strong hold

ok so i was wandering about looking for a place to build and then i needed an axe so i was went mining i ran into a stronghold(not shares) but there were a couple of torches so what im asking is can i claim it or not because the vast majority of the stronghold was unexplored until i went through???

Sounds like someone just went over it and threw some torches at it, should be fair to claim it IMO.

Yeah, shouldn't be any problem if it wasn't fully lit up. Have fun!

sweet so that means two of the three strongholds are claimed now
