Alex's Adventures in Thailand

Hey guys! A short introduction for this thread. I'll post updates (not every day, it all depends on if I have an internet connection) about what I've been doing and such here in the crazy Thailand. So, hope you guys find this weird little blog thingy interesting. lol.

So today is July 6th, I landed here in Thailand around 6 AM local time. I was exhausted, hadn't slept at all during that ridiculously long (11 hours) flight. The flight was boring and long, but I have to say, playing Minecraft on my laptop (the seat had like, a power outlet for me to use) kept me going for an hour or so. When we finally landed, we get our stuff and we wait for our driver to show up (the airport is pretty big). Stand there for a little while, drive to the hotel to find out our rooms aren't ready yet. Pretty mad, we leave to get something to eat. Not much happens after that, now I'm sitting here around 11:20 AM, still local time, and writing this. (PS: Jetlag sux)

I don't have many pictures yet, but I do have a few pictures from the flight that I found pretty neat. Heh. They're posted further down into this post.
Aaaaand before I forget, I'm not able to get on Steam (EDIT: With the exception of going on Steam Mobile, that works. lol) on this hotel's WiFi (leaving tomorrow anyways), so any problems with the servers, tell Deth or Snik (Honestly, I shouldn't even need to say that, but people would still try to contact me about the servers even if I'm on holiday -.-).

Now for the pictures!

So this is before we even took off. It was actually nice weather when I left from where I live and when we arrived at the airport, but after boarding the plane, it started raining. Hard to see, but the window has water on it, 'nuff said.

Another picture taken through the plane-window. The sunrise above Bangkok, it was beautiful, looked a lot better than what my Samsung Galaxy S3's camera captured, but, it is what it is.

Nice :D

I really hate waiting at the airport or at the hotel for something, and even more if I'm tired. I remember last time I was in Turkey, our flight home got delayed by three hours because of a sick pilot. That was a looong wait.

It was worse when there wasn't a direct flight from Oslo to Bangkok, we had to land in like Copenhagen or Stockholm and then continue to Bangkok.

Those were the painful days.

When I flew to nebraska (3 hour or so direct flight) I had 2 stops, one in Salt Lake City utah, and the other one in Minneapolis, which is actually further east than nebraska.

That sounds like a stupid set up to me. Why would you even do it that way!?

July 7th, 2013:

So it's 4:17 PM right now. Haven't really done anything special at all today, yet. Took a flight from Bangkok, to a place up north by Laos, called Udon Thani. Staying at a hotel that has free wifi (yay!) that lets me go on Steam.

Now the issue is the speed of it, it's like 5 mbps download & 0.40 mbps upload. I wanted to upload a vlog today, but the render time + upload speed makes me wonder if I'm able to do it at all. The vlog doesn't really show much else than my hotel room, and how stormy(ish) it was here just an hour ago.
While I'm writing this, my mother came to my room (yes, I live by my own in this room) with two cans of soda (Coke and Sprite if you're wondering) and some ice cream! :D

I took a picture of my first hotel room (had to move, the windows were leaking LOL), it's actually panorama, though it's not really visible through the picture I took. Used the Galaxy S3's panorama function btw.
Must say my room looks pretty fantastic with the windows and all.

Enjoy your time guys, Cactus out.

Because Generally there are hub airports for different regions, For example, If I wanted to fly to somewhere in Oregon, I would probably fly to Salt Lake City or LA First, Then to my destination, It makes it easier to get flights, Therefore costs less, That's also why direct flights are so expensive.

I honestly would want to pay more to get a direct flight than to take a bunch of small ones. That might be just me, but I don't like to run off and on planes.

On a different note: I uploaded my "vlog" or whatever I should call it.
