I don't have a sub in my car, just stock speakers, but holy crap...I've heard stock speakers in other people cars and they sound like garbage. For some reason they put some pretty nice speakers in those old year corollas.

I'd love to hear what you are talking about.

Yeah most stock stuff sounds terrible in cars, but most people generally don't care.

Edit: If I remember right back in the 80's and early 90's I think hi-fi was a big deal, so they probably made things better in cars for advertising purposes, too bad most people don't care about audio quality anymore

I've heard the stock speakers in the 2004 Mercedes Benz E-220, and those are just incredible. Rich, clear sound with lots of punch without even a subwoofer, and they go pretty loud too. My grandfather has one of those, so that's why I've heard the system in them.

That's because it's a Mercedes. And they're 40k+ luxury cars. They don't normally put nice speakers in a cheap car like a Corolla.
