Yeah before I got put on haul truck and I was a drill helper we worked with those cables, 2 of 3 shovels are electric and 3 of 5 drill are electric. Actually its funny the discovery channel was at the mine for almost a month filming the shovels for some big machines special. Because they are the 2 largest electric shovels in the world (in they're weight class)
Now about those cables, they come in 2 lengths: 200 and 1000 feet. They are about 6 inches round. They weigh 8lbs per 1foot.. It was a very labour intensive job.

I'm not to sure, when I go to work tonight I'll ask 1 of the shovel operators. I'll edit my post with the price, I know it will just be a speculation from them though, I do know that each hydrolic cylinder to replace is $200,000. And since I started work that seems to be the most commonly replaced part. A few shifts ago a driver on a different crew than I'm on backed into 1 of the cylinders that raises the bucket. Didn't break it but it goes to show you gotta watch out.
